RTC of Washoe County Hosts Public Information Meeting on Proposed Pyramid Highway/US 395 Connection Project

Reno, NV­ The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) will host a public information meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Lazy 5 Community Center located at 7100 Pyramid Highway in Sparks from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The RTC of Washoe County on behalf of the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is conducting a public information meeting to provide information and receive comments from the public on the proposed Pyramid Highway/US 395 Connection Project.

The project engineering and environmental studies will consider alternatives to increase capacity along the Pyramid Highway’s north/south corridor and provide a new east/west connector from US 395 to the existing Pyramid Highway. The defined areas of study include the Pyramid Highway Corridor from Queen Way to Calle de la Plata, and a proposed US 395 Connection Corridor, from US 395 to Vista Boulevard.

The meeting will include an “open house” featuring exhibits and project information with RTC of Washoe County staff and consultants available for questions. A brief presentation about the project will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by a short comment period, and then returning to the open house format. The public is encouraged to attend and provide comments about the proposed project. A Spanish-language translator will also be available.
